5 major changes for Ubud Open Studios 2025

It wouldn't be Ubud Open Studios without some innovations and changes each year. Read on for the 5 major updates, some of them because we listened to our amazing attendees and put suggestions into action, including a new LOCATION and the return of WORKSHOPS!

We are really excited to be exploring a new part of town for the ticketing hub and showcase this year. Sanggingan is naturally a creative hub for west Ubud, with galleries like Sika, BIASA ArtSpace and Non Frasa, and the Neka Gallery.

We wanted to create a more decentralized experience this year, fitting with the ‘art crawl’ structure of the event and liked the people being on foot exploring the great neighborhood offerings of Sanggingan, from teh cafes, shops and small hotels.

We think art crawl format allows for a more personal and less intimidating approach to experiencing art. Attendees can engage in conversations with painters, sculptors, ceramicists, and multimedia artists as they demonstrate their craft in real time. This direct interaction fosters a deeper appreciation for the artistic process and the individuals behind the creations.
